Selamat Pengantin Baru: Reizaal & Linda

9 June 2002 15:01

Another wedding weekend. This time around it's my ex-housemate's when I was at uni. Congratulations, dude! To quote the guy just before getting on the procession, "Tak elok tunggu lama-lama, karat nanti!" Heh! Trust on Ijal to come up with gems like that! Pictures are here, by the way.

Went to Bukit Bintang later after the wedding reception and got/treated myself a couple of things. Got me a copy of Return To Castle Wolfenstein and American McGee's Alice games. Been a while since I played any good games on my PC. The last being Max Payne and Black & White. I've started playing Return To Castle Wolfenstein already. If that kinda stuff can already invoke that kinda suspense, I really can't wait for Doom III by Carmack and Co. at id Software to come out!

I also got me a power adapter/charger for my digicam. I can now proceed with my webcam project! Heh! Don't worry! There won't be any of them American Pie stunts! Firstly, I don't have that much upstream Internet connectivity to shout about and second, I'm kept reminded by what not to do when you have a webcam! Heh!

Brother's Gonna Work It Out

6 June 2002 15:18

Started running on the evenings again after about a month long hiatus due to some job commitments and the recurring right ankle injury. It's more of the former than the latter. Still, I don't think I can forever ignore the problem with ankle. It all started with the fall I had last fasting month whilst getting out of bed. :P Anyways, the last time I went to the chiropractor it wasn't as bad. He mentioned that it had to do with some scar tissues being in the way and also touching on some nerves and thus causing the slight pain. It was all still tolerable until I went to see Attack Of The Clones couple of weeks ago when I missed a step while trying to get to our seats. Now it's gotten a bit more painful everytime I flex my foot, even when I walk. I should probably go visit the chiro again one of these days.

My Own Little World

3 June 2002 13:32

Ever wondered what that little world also known as my room looks like? The place where most of my personal R&D (i.e. Rehat & Duduk) happens? This was made possible by taking multiple overlapping shots using my digicam mounted on a tripod and Panorama Factory to stitch it all, in case you're wondering.

And Thus Kicketh The Greatest Show On Earth

1 June 2002 13:45

The FIFA World Cup 2002 is well underway and what a start! Minnows Senegal upsetted France with a 1-0 score on the opening match! I'm personally rooting for most of the underdog teams this time around, especially the African teams. We've seen one already with Senegal. Cameroon and Nigeria oughtta put up a good show. Group F, dubbed the Group Of Death, matches should prove to be interesting with England, Argentina, Nigeria and Sweden up against each other. Anyways, this will mark the beginning of a month where appointments, meetings or dates have to be worked AROUND World Cup matches' schedule!

Add Another Notch To The Age-O-Meter

30 May 2002 14:55

Yes, ma'am. I turn another year old as of 7.18pm just now. Nothing out of the ordinary happened and not that I'm expecting any in fact. Still got up, got to work, with the rest of the day pretty much went by like any other. I did get some birthday greetings anyhow, so many thanks, y'all! Appreciate your remembering! What I wished still applies. Heh!

True To Oneself

29 May 2002 14:09

Definition:

To be true to oneself is to seek the truth of what it is to live an authentic life as a human person. This is more than being polite and tolerating others. This is trying to accept others and be concerned with the good, dignity and justice of others.
I wish for peace, happiness, goodwill and good health to everyone.

Selamat Pengantin Baru: Syed & Mardhiyah

28 May 2002 13:46

My ex-classmate in MRSM Jasin back in 1991/1992 held his wedding reception today. The ceremony also doubled up as a reunion for members of Class P of the said junior college during those years. It was certainly great seeing some of your friends whom you haven't seen in a decade! Too much water under the bridge to catch up in one afternoon. Nevertheless, contact has been re-established and hopefully we'll be much better off in keeping up with each other as compared to the last 10 years!

My respect to Aril for choosing the most unorthodox wedding gift for the couple on our behalf! You can pretty much figure out from the pictures! ;)

Coulthard Breaks The Duck, Ends Schumachers' Streak

27 May 2002 15:34

You gotta love today's race! Formula 1 came to the most glamorous, twistiest and tightest circuit on the calendar, i.e. Monaco. David Coulthard finally ended the Schumacher brothers' winning streak for this year's grand prix. He was very much in the lead in his McLaren throughout the race right from the beginning after a superb start from 2nd place despite having a couple of scares during the race itself with some slight smoke coming out of his engine and the Michelin tires behaving rather peculiarly. Juan Pablo Montoya (Williams BMW) posed some challenge behind Coulthard for about 30-something laps before retiring due to engine failure. Michael Schumacher (Ferarri) was then pretty much in Coulthard's rear view mirror all the way to the chequered flag but wasn't able to do much due to the tight nature of the track. The younger Schumacher had a relatively easy race towards the end. The position for 4th and 5th was fought tooth and nail all the way to the end between Jarno Trulli (Renault) and Giancarlo Fisichella (Jordan Honda) with the former triumphing. Barichello (Ferarri) did put up a fight for the last point of the race with Frentzen (Orange Arrows) but the latter held on to the end for the deserved point leaving Barichello walking away empty handed from the race.

Race standings: 1 - David Coulthard (McLaren Mercedes), 2 - Michael Schumacher (Ferarri), 3 - Ralf Schumacher (Williams BMW), 4 - Jarno Trulli (Renault), 5 - Giancarlo Fisichella (Jordan Honda), 6 - Heinz-Harald Frentzen (Orange Arrows)

Life's Little Epiphanies Courtesy Of The Idiot Box

25 May 2002 16:33

Ever had one of those instances where art imitates YOUR very own life? Some movies or TV shows (the good ones at least) actually do have substance and over the past week, I came across just about a few that I can somewhat relate to. I shan't reveal what TV show or movie (for the sake of not adding on to that corniness factor that I are already present in me :P) but suffice to say, it was enough to actually make me stop, reflect and think about the whole situation. I should watch TV/movies more often then...

Crud! I thought I got another nasty mouth ulcer but a quick look with the flashlight showed that I got a growing wisdom tooth that's biting into the wall of my cheek. As much as I hate to, I think it's gonna be a trip to the dentist soon. Actually, it'll be my first trip to the dentist ever since, uhmmm lemmesee... I was 11 years old? I was lucky enough that all my baby teeth fell off on their own and that my teeth turned out rather well arranged too without much manual intervention. Anyways, think with the holiday weekend going on, it's gotta wait a bit. Can't grit my teeth as much though for the next couple of days... uggh!

Having trouble deciding between two silverscreen hotties this summer? This might help you decide! Heheh!
