God Gave Me Nothing I Wanted

22 May 2007 17:55

When I asked God for Strength, He gave me difficult situations to face;
When I asked God for Brain & Brawn, He gave me puzzles in life to solve;
When I asked God for Happiness, He showed me some unhappy people;
When I asked God for Wealth, He showed me how to work hard;
When I asked God for Favors, He showed me opportunities to work hard;
When I asked God for Peace, He showed me how to help others;
God gave me nothing I wanted, He gave me everything I needed.

I Can Breathe Easy Now

18 May 2007 15:56

I feel compelled to write again after having let a good amount of water run under the bridge already. But with the Raja Muda of Perak Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah getting married to Zara Salim Davidson today, it's certainly an occasion worthy to take note of. I feel like a lot of pressure has been lifted off my shoulders already with their tying the knot. See, if His Highness can wait till he's 50 to get married to someone as brainy and hot as Zara, I think there's still plenty of hope for me yet.

60 is the new 40 indeed.

Gambus Jodoh 2007

24 April 2007 13:29

Some purists who feel that the works of Allahyarham Tan Sri P. Ramlee should never ever be desecrated by remixes will probably cringe and scream murder at my latest attempt. It was a matter of time before I got around to do a remix of one of his songs which I think were way ahead of its time back then 'cos it's still very relevant till today. I just thought that it needed a bit of an update to its sound just like how Junkie XL and Paul Oakenfold each did Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation" and "Rubbernecking" respectively. So here it is, ladies and gentlemen, Gambus Jodoh 2007 (click to download).

I'm not sure if this will eventually blow up in my face but it will be a funny thing indeed if this remix ever gets played at my own wedding one day.

So You Really Wanna Dance To My Remixes?

5 April 2007 13:04

Here is what's been keeping me busy lately. I recently accepted an assignment to do some music editing/remixing work for 8TV's So You Think You Can Dance show (on top of the usual stuff at my day job). Those maniacal music mangling and mutilation did come to something after all. Now not only does the music (if you can call it that) has the potential to bleed people's ears nationwide, it also has the prospect of actually getting some people physically injured while moving and gyrating rhythmically to it. Although I won't be making any screentime per se, being involved in a major TV production is getting me all hot and bothered already. The last time I remember feeling this sexy was when I got my iPod. For that, I would like to go on record to thank Audi Mok for bringing me to 8TV's attention. I owe him a hamper now. The ones that come with cans of lychee in it. He accepts no substitutes.

So You Think You Can Dance airs every Thursday at 9:30pm, beginning tomorrow April 5.

My March Madness

1 April 2007 15:47

I wouldn't want to let March pass by without writing another entry. I've been at my busiest in years during the last couple of weeks and will remain so for the next three months. Yet, despite the crazy schedule, I'm quite at ease and relaxed about the whole thing. I thought juggling those things that I'm on (to be told in another entry) would've short circuited my mental faculties (if you think it hasn't already) but surprisingly, I find myself being at my productive best, optimal health and actually enjoying the whole thing!

I just hope I won't end up with any withdrawal symptoms once things go back to normal in June.

I Wanna Jong Jong Inai With Teriyaki Boyz

12 March 2007 16:01

Yet another remix/mashup that will most likely mess your auditory senses. This is what happens if C. Loco & Suria meets Lumidee & Fatman Scoop meets Whitney Houston & The Teriyaki Boyz. I doubt they'll ever be in the same room to party together in our lifetime so this is the closest you're ever going to get to that.

I Heart HatiYoga!

25 February 2007 16:17

I'm going to go out of my way for once to lend my support and promote this petite and pretty person with a penchant and passion to turn people (even those resembling Pilsbury or Playdoh) into pretzels with panache. I'm talking about Ninie - The Yoga Instructor. She's made it as one of the finalists in the Nescafe Kickstart reality TV show (airs every Saturday at 7:00pm over TV3). HatiYoga, Malaysia's first yoga magazine, is her brainchild in which her wish to reach out and share the beauty and benefits of yoga to Malaysians is realized. For RM10 year-quarterly, you also get an instructional VCD to guide you with those breathing and body-bending yoga moves. Real value for money!

Promotions aside, I personally feel that Ninie has a lot going on for her in pursuit of her passion and to realize that magazine of hers. It definitely showed during the HatiYoga's launch this morning. For that, I have nothing but utmost repect for her (perhaps the ability to greet "Sawadeeka" from behind has something to do with it as well). And despite yoga being non-violent by nature, I hope she will kick major asses in Kickstart!

Sexy Papa On The London Bridge

22 February 2007 12:22

Papa Jahat does the Sexyback on the London Bridge by The Fabulous Catz featuring Fergie and Justin Timberlake. It's the fastest produced remix/mashup I've ever done. You may laugh, cry, laugh crying or cry laughing after listening.

An Oinkin' and Snortin' New Year

19 February 2007 03:04

In less than two months, we've been ushering no less than three new years. Today, we celebrate the Chinese New Year. While it may be the year of the boar, I hope the coming year will be anything but a bore or chore. May you have a prosperous new year, don't let the wallet get too porous, stay gorgeous and lay off anything preposterous.

Meniti usia kita
Bukannya mudah
Dalam kederasan dunia
Kita bertanya
Adakah dapat ku penuhi
Harapan semua?
Tanggungjawab yang diberikan
Mampukah ku bawa?

Coming soon to you on the Sumo-lah soundtrack. Pacai let me in on the near final version of the song when I popped by the studio last week. I thought the strings and rocking guitar climactic ending is nothing short of eargasmic. So I asked him for another listen. He obliged. He's cool like that. Mamasanthinks so of him too.
